About Us

Elemental Resort, formally known as the "Queens Cottages" was established in the 1960s. These comforting cabins have been renovated in 2018 with brand new ceramic tile and wood floors, new modern bath with rain shower head and hand held shower and built-in vanity. We kept the cedar paneling that gives it a warm rustic feeling. Resting on the shores of a spring fed lake, Big Shag lake, its great for all water sports including swimming, launching your own watercraft, water skiing, fishing, and pleasure boating. Relax on the shore with a campfire, picnic tables and a fresh caught fish on one of our charcoal grills. Perfect for family gatherings. Take the edge off after a long day of adventuring in a hot tub. The shower has an endless supply of hot water with our new tankless hot water heaters for those sore muscles after all your fun activities. Towels and linens are conveniently provided  In the winter the resort takes center stage for many winter activities starting with being able to snowmobile right off our property onto state trails. This is a favorite area for hunters. Luxury beds wait for you at the end of a long day of adventures. Need to catch up with the outside world? We do provide TV and internet. Lounge on the leather couch while you watch your favorite shows or stream movies. The kitchens are original and we do have what you need with a refrigerator, gas range, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker and all the dishware and pots and pans you should want. There is plenty of room for everyone to sit down at the table and enjoy the views of the lake. Being roughly 25 minutes from Marquette, 15 minutes from Sawyer International Airport and 10 minutes from the central town of Gwinn, you are conveniently located in a special area deep within the heart of the woods.
